 For losing weight protein packed diet is recommended. If you are vegetarian then lentils are good option as a protein packed food. Recently I decided to lose weight, and decided to use chickpeas often as its rich in proteins.I heard about chickpeas sundal recipe, but never tried making it at home. I tried making chickpeas sundal at home and it turned out super tasty and easy recipe. Now I often make it as evening snacks.
Here is the simple to make and guilt free snacks chickpeas sundal .I sprinkle some finely chopped onions, coriander and tomatoes on my sundal as a toppings but it’s optional. There are variety of sundal recipes made similar way using peanuts, black Chana and green peas too.Try this snacks and let us know your feed back in comments section.

Ingredients

  • Chickpeas / white chana 1 cup
  • Curry leaves 7-8
  • Oil 1 tea spoon
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Fresh coconut grated 1 tb spoon
  • Salt as per taste
  • Red chilies 2
  • Cumin and mustard seeds  1/2 tea spoon

Directions

  1.  Soak chickpeas overnite or 7-8 hours  in water.
  2.  In the morning drain water and cook chickpeas with pinch of salt and fresh water in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles.
  3.  Heat kadhai  and pour oil in it.
  4.  Add mustard and cumin seeds in it. 
  5.  After seeds splutter add asafoetida , curry leaves  , red chillies and saute.
  6.  Add  cooked chickpeas mix well.
  7.  Sprinkle freshly grated coconut on sundal and mix well.
  8.  Switch off the gas and chickpeas sundal is ready to serve.
