Holi is exburent and fun festival celebrated across many parts of india. People meet ,mingle,dance ,color each other and relish on delicacies on the holi. Holi is spring festival and its basically celebrated for two days. First day is known as holika dahan or choti holi across different parts in india different celebration ways are there. On first day holika bonfire with where people worship holika bonfire with coconut,black chana , batasha (holi sweets ).many delicacies , desserts are made for holi celebration.Sweets like batasha(sugar candies) , garlands of dry fruits are distributed to relatives children for holi celebration.
As a child I always waited for this festival throughout the year. Puran poli is made on the first day of holi for offerings to god.Its famous type of bread / roti made by stuffing chana dal puran in wheat dough. Generally served with ghee and amati.
Amati is generally served with puran oli as an accompaniment. its spicy dish made with selected spice and chana dal.
Basundi is delectable dessert made using full cream milk .It is made by reducing milk on low flame for long time.it can be served chilled or warm and must have during festival time.Holi is festival to relish desserts and try making basundi this holi.
Thandai /sardai is drink made using dry fruits and served during festival of holi.It has cooling properties and thus its perfect cold drink for summers.Thandai lassi is made using buttermilk and thandai masala.
Thandai sewai kheer is sewai kheer made by flavouring it with thandai masala.It tastes perfect and dry fruits masala makes it extra tasty.
