I am die hard tea lover and I like to drink various types of teas. I always keep many types of tea (Green tea, normal tea, herbal tea )in my kitchen. Tea is that particular “ Refreshing  kick “ for me and I start my day always with cup of tea.(I can’t imagine my morning without it :- ) ) These tea recipes need different type of herbs for making and some of them are no milk tea recipes.Tea made with herbs has medicinal properties and can be used as a home remedy for various health problems.Tea can be used for treating cold, cough, sore throat,headaches,  diarrhoea, stomach pain, and fever as well. Tea with herbs (Medicinal tea) is called as “kadha “. Kadha is effective drink made by infusing various herbs and tea powder in water. I make kadha many times to treat cold ,cough for me and my children. I composed this post( for tea lovers like me) with variety of hot  tea recipes which I make at home.                Following are refreshing and hot tea recipes use different ingredients  which have many health benefits.

Spice powder for tea (Chai masala)


Masala chai or spiced tea is famous tea and it tastes superb. Ingredients and their proportion used for making chai masala can be varied as per your choice.It’s must have drink for guests. Chai masala  has good shelf life and can be used for many days.
How to do:
Clean with dry cotton cloth dry ginger, black pepper, clove, cinnamon, cardamom.
Powder all dry ingredients using grinder.
Mixture all above ingredients in one big bowl.
Store this tea masala powder in dry air tight container.

1.Ginger tea:


In cold winter days drinking warm ginger tea is soothing for body and soul .For tea lovers season doesn’t matter. Ginger tea can be used as home remedy for cold, cough, sore throat also. Anti-inflammatory property of ginger helps to sooth sore throat.

Ingredients:

  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 tea spoon
  • Tea powder 1 tea spoon
  • Ginger 1 inch piece
  • Tea masala 1/4 tea spoon

Recipe:

  1. Wash and grate/ crush fresh ginger.
  2. Boil water in and add grated ginger in it.
  3. Add tea powder(chai masala) in water and simmer it for 10 minutes. This helps to infuse flavours in tea.
  4. Add sugar and milk in tea and simmer for 5 more minutes.
  5. Ginger tea is ready and serve it hot.

2.Jaggery tea:


Use jagery instead of sugar while making tea. Jagery is hot in properties and that’s why used as a home remedy for treating cold and cough.Milk may curdle tea when jagery added in it so avoid adding milk.
Use 1 tea spoon of grated jagery instead of sugar  as a sweetnar while making tea.
3.Basil leaves tea:


Basil leaves have medicinal properties and nice aroma. Basil tea has that unique flavour and aroma. If regularly taken basil tea increases immunity.
Crush 3 to 4 basil leaves and add them while making 1 cup of tea.

4.Fennel tea:


Fennel seeds aid in digestion. Fennel tea is good home remedy in to treat indigestion and it’s used in confinement period for boosting breast milk supply. Crush fennel seeds to make powder.
Add ½ spoon of fennel powder in boiling water for making one cup of fennel tea. This is no milk tea recipe.

5.Cardamom tea


Cardamom has nice aroma and it’s used for making many desserts. When cardamom used for making tea it gives perfect taste and aroma to it.
Crush cardamom seeds to make cardamom powder.
Add pinch of cardamom powder in boiling water for making cardamom tea. For 1 cup of tea sprinkle ¼ tea spoon of powder.Use sugar as a sweetener.
6.Cinnamon tea:


Clean and crush cinnamon sticks to get fine powder.
Add 1/4 tea spoon of cinnamon powder  in boiling water to make one cup of tea.
Add sugar as a sweetener and milk is optional in this tea.

7.Dry ginger tea:  


Dry ginger powder can be used for making ginger tea. (Instead of using fresh ginger) and it tastes just like fresh ginger tea. This tea is used as a home remedy for treating cold, cough, sore throat .

How to do:
Add 1/4 tea spoon of dry ginger powder in 1 cup of boiling water.
1/4 teas spoon dry ginger powder mix with 1/4 tea spoon of black pepper powder to make perfect combo.
Add sugar as a sweetener .

8. Black pepper tea:


Black pepper tea is used as a home remedy in cold, cough, indigestion.
How to make:
Add 1/2 tea spoon of black pepper powder in 1 cup of boiling water for making one cup of black peeper  tea.
Use sugar as a sweetener and adding milk in tea is optional.
