I have suffered prolonged stomach illness for much longer period of 3 years. I had diarrhoea many times in this period as my digestive system was weak. 1.Eating light diet

While suffering from stomach illness/ diarrhoea it’s difficult to digest food. So eating light/easy to digest diet helps for faster recovery. Eat foods (With more liquid) like rice gruel, porridge, khichadi (Mixture of rice and lentils), Soups, rice. Eat small meals instead of two big meals. Big meals can cause more load on your digestive system. It’s better to eat light diet for 1 or 2 days after recovery from illness also.

2. Drink more fluids

Diarrhoea causes fluid loss from body so drink more fluids. Drinking more water helps to maintain hydration. Isotonic drinks hydrate body very well so take these drinks.
