It’s another travel blog time and today’s post is about Genting Highlands and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia trip. We planned this trip as kids wanted to go to Genting highlands theme parks. Genting highlands are famous for its awesome weather and serene mountains, lush valleys amusement parks, restaurants, casino, and recreation activities. It has four main zones – First world indoor theme park, Fox world outdoor park, Water Park, Video Games Park.
It was a 3-day trip and we traveled from Singapore to KL by bus. The weather was cloudy on our journey day and it was a great luxury to see the roadside views. Singapore to Kl is a scenic journey as the road has farms of palm trees and lush greenery. I enjoyed this journey and we had to get down for a few minutes to complete immigration formalities. It took around 7-8 hours to reach KL. After reaching KL we took a cab to reach our hotel near KL central. In the evening we visited the well-known tallest twin towers in the world – Petronas towers. Twin towers have 88 floors and double-decker Sky Bridge which connects two towers at 41 th floor. This bridge also provides structural support to these huge towers. It’s absolutely an engineering marvel and whoever visiting it couldn’t take eyes off from it. Capturing such huge engineering excellence in one frame was difficult for my poor little camera, but I have tried taking a few pics. (I had to lie down on the ground literally for taking these pics and yet it doesn’t cover complete towers). Few things can’t be captured by gadgets but eyes. We spent complete evening roaming around twin towers and shopping in the mall.
There are many bus services available from KL Sentral to Genting. They offer complete tour package which included two-way travel and entry pass to a Theme park. On the next day morning, we started our journey towards Genting Highlands by car. It took around 90 minutes to reach. After reaching to our destination daddy dearest was excited to see the cable cars there. Genting sky way is mono cable gondola lift used to reach Genting resort hotel from the ground station. As it’s situated on the peak of the mountain this cable car is used and it’s equipped with high tech electronics and very safe to travel. The journey up the mountain peak takes approximately 20-25 minutes using this established rope way.
Initially, I thought sky car might be for some fun ride but it was used for reaching hill top. It was the toughest thing for me as I have the phobia of heights. I declared that I won’t be seating in this box to reach hilltop.Little Siya and her papa tried all possible ways to convince me as there was not any other way to reach Genting Highlands. If I wouldn’t have seat in the sky cab then I had to wait till night at sky cab station. Somehow I boarded in the sky cab and jittery journey to Himalaya (Read as heightened mountain) started. I Prayed to almost all the gods I know. While I was praying for our safety the daddy dearest was trying to distract me from my fear. He asked me to enjoy the beautiful nature from heights, cool weather around. “This rope way is very safe and many people across many parts of the world are using it to reach the high mountain in just a few minutes, Don’t look down often, instead see forests, mountains , clouds , scenery and other sky cabs ”.
As I don’t have any option I followed his instructions. Then I realized it was interesting to see so dense forests, trees, serene mountains and that too from heights. Everything looked so small from the cab. Believe me, it’s exhilarating to experience nature from the top. For that few seconds in the cab, I felt so much superior to bypassing the forest, trees, and mountains in few minutes. The weather was extremely cool and as the car was climbing higher we could see clouds around us. It was a mesmerizing experience to see clouds.Beauty of this wonderful place is indescribable for sure and it took over my fear. We didn’t realize when we reached on top and it’s time to get out of the sky car.
As we are habitual to hot and humid weather in Singapore, it’s extremely special to experience chilling and pleasant weather at Genting. Kids were happy to wear their colorful sweaters as they hardly get them to wear at Singapore. Apart from awesome weather, Genting is famous for its four zones – First world indoor theme park, Fox world outdoor park, Water park, Video games park.
We could only visit the first world indoor theme park because of time constraint. This indoor theme park is huge and has fantastic rides, entertainment shows, shops, restaurants, boutique outlets. Various entertainment shows are arranged throughout the day and we could watch Magic show and dance performances. We relished on some tastiest veg sandwiches and coffee. This park is so happening and crowded. From children to adults everyone has some or other fun rides to enjoy in first world indoor park. My kids tried almost all rides made for children and loved toy trains and airplane most.
It was fun filled day and we returned back to the base station in the evening though kids didn’t want to. We took the bus for returning from Genting to Kuala Lumpur. Genting has much more to offer its visitors and one would like to visit this place again and again. It was a wonderful trip and we would definitely like to visit it again.
