Amrakhand or shrikhand recipe

Amrakhand is type of shrikhand which is  made using  mangoes and fresh curd. Shrikhand is delicious dessert and has variety of recipes for making it. At my place shrikhand is ideally served with puri and it’s absolutely feast to have this combo. I often make different types of shrikhand  and amrakhand in summer when lots of mangoes are available. I like mango shrikhand more than other desserts as it has unique taste of mangoes in it and also it needs less sugar.Sweetness of mangoes makes mango shrikhand sweet and thus very less sugar  is needed in this recipe.

Any type of shrikhand needs hung curd , which is made using hanging curd in muslin /cotton cloth for 5-6 hours. It tastes best when made using alphanso mangoes and home made curd. I always use fresh curd made using full cream milk for this recipe to get creamy dessert. While making this dessert make sure not to use sour curd , as it wont result in  good taste. While serving garnish it with any choice of dry fruits to make this luscious dessert more rich and tasty.
