Cabbage pancakes

Cabbage pancakes are made using freshly grated cabbage or leftover cabbage curry.I make this when i have leftover cabbage curry and no one wants to eat it. Its tasty and very healthy breakfast option .These pancakes can be served with any choice of chutney or tomato sauce also.It can be made as light evening snacks.It takes few minutes to make the batter for cabbage pancakes as few available ingredients are needed for making it.With same set of ingredients cabbage vade can be made by deep frying the batter.But for using less oil I make small pancakes by shallow frying on non stick pan.Try making this recipe for breakfast and you will like it for sure.

  1. Wash and grate / fine chop cabbage .
  2. Heat pan and add oil in it.
  3. After oil gets hot add cumin and mustard seeds in pan.
  4. Add grated garlic and asafoetida in oil.
  5. Add grated cabbage and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add all spice powders in cabbage and cook well for another 5-6 minutes.
  7. Switch off gas and add gram flour and rice flour in cabbage curry.
  8. Add carom seeds, chili powder and some water in cabbage curry to make batter for cabbage pancakes.
  9. Heat non stick pan ans sprinkle oil on it.
  10. Pour one tb spoon of cabbage batter on tawa and roast it untill golden brown on both the sides.
  11. Cabbage pancakes are ready to serve.
