Murukku recipe

What do you take as a evening snacks? What’s your favorite tea -time snacks? If you ask this question to me, I would say almost all savory and fried snacks are my favorite. Actually I absolutely enjoy eating fried foods, but now I’m limiting on it. Fried foods are tasty but  high in calories.Frying can be replaced with baking to make healthier version of the snacks. For  a tea party at my place I wanted to make a batch of savory snacks. I decided to make murukku for the first time. It has good shelf life, so you can make in a big batch and store in air tight container.

I always make chakali at home (snacks made up from lentils and rice) maharashtrian version of murrukku, but never tried this urad dal and rice recipe.I made murukku ,(south Indian snacks made up of rice and urad dal ) and it turned out absolutely tasty.Though it was my first time, Murukku turned out very well , crunchy and tasty. It needs very less pre- preparations and gets ready quickly.Try making murukku using this recipe and provide your feedbacks in comments section.
