We have guests at home for meals many times.I try to make their meals special by including variety of dishes.Mostly I go for making peas pulao or peas pilaf as a rice variety.The reaosn behind making this dish is it’s super simple yet delicious rice recipe. My Guests and family  always enjoyed eating this rice dish.

Today’s post is Peas pulao or peas pilaf it’s delicious long grain rice cooked with selected spices and peas.If available go for fresh peas for making this rice.Now it’s season of winter and peas is available easily.For making every grain of pulao separate there are some tips as follows:

1.Cook pulao in open vessel.

2.Add exact amount of water given in recipe.

3.Use only long grain basamati rice for making this peas pilaf or  pulao.

Instructions
  1. Clean and drain water from basamati rice .
  2. Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Chop onions and wash peas.Keep it aside.
  4. Heat ghee in heavy bottom pan.
  5. Once ghee gets hot add cumin and mustard seeds.
  6. Add all dry spices, bay leaf, cloves, peppers, cinnamom in hot ghee.
  7. Add chopped onions and saute for 4-5 minutes.
  8. Add cashew nuts, peas and saute for 2 more minutes.
  9. Add soaked basamati rice in pan and mix well.
  10. Add water, salt and other spices in rice.
  11. Mix well and cook rice without covering for 15-16 minutes on low flame.
  12. Garnish with fried dry fruits and serve peas pulao.
