It’s summer time and mango time.Markets are full of sweet,aromatic and colorfull mangoes.I like to eat mangoes in any form. I like summer only becasue of mangoes and ice creams.

My mother used to make many raw / unripe mango recipes as it’s known for it’s colling peroperties.Mango takku is made using raw mangoes and it’s tangy,spicyside dish for chapati or roti.When you have raw mangoes around try this recipe for sure. It’s very easy to make and tastes yummy too.Moreover It has good shelf life and you can use it for weeks by storing in refrigerator.Try this tasngy recipe and let me know your feedback in comments section.

  1. Wash and grate raw mangoes.
  2. Crush garlic cloves to get garlic paste.
  3. Heat pan and add oil in it.
  4. Add cumin and mustard seeds in hot oil.Add pinch of asafoetida.
  5. Add garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  6. Add grated mango and saute for 1 minutes.
  7. Add jaggery , salt , chili and turmeric powder in mango and mix well.
  8. Cook takku for another 5 minutes and switch off gas.
  9. Serve mango takku as a side dish with chapati, roti or paratha.
