Wish you all happy Krishana janamashatmi!! it’s the season of festivals and food. Vareity of snacks, sweets,desserts are made during this period on the occasion of various festivals. Today i’s Krishna janamashtami, and I have made this savory shankarpali , khare shankarpali.It’s an easy to make recipe and comes out crispy. There are various versions of this recipe and sweet shankarpali is very popular snacks having long shelf life. Actually as many festivals are lined up now, and on every festival we make dessert as a offering. So this time i switched from sweet to savory offering as it doesn’t have sugar.

Khare shankarapli is a snacks made from all purpose flour, semolina, whole wheat flour. And it’s spiced with cumin seeds, carom seeds and salt.Try this easy to make snacks which has good shelf life.

Instructions
  1. Sieve and Mix all dry ingredients together in a big bowl.
  2. Heat pan and pour 1 tb spoon of oil in it.
  3. Pour hot oil on dry ingredients.
  4. Add water and make hard dough by combining all dry ingredients together.
  5. Let it rest for 1/2 hour.
  6. Make equal sized ball of dough.
  7. Roll thick chapathi of this balls using rolling pin.
  8. Cut shankarpali in dimond shapes using big knief.
  9. Heat pan and pour oil for deep frying shankarpali.
  10. Deep fry savory shankarpali in hot oil on low flame.
  11. Let it cool and store in airtight containers.
