Wheat porridge

When my elder daughter turned 6 months old, I started giving solid food to her.Initially it was only rice and lentils water then rice.I wanted to include variety of foods in her diet and that’s why i started giving porridge to her.I came across wheat porridge recipe which tastes good and perfect for toddlers. It is made using wheat flour  and it has perfect texture for babies.Wheat porridge is made as a healthy breakfast option or dessert on festivals also.Its easy to make recipe.

Roast and store wheat flour in air tight container for making this porridge and use it as and when required.Garnish with any favorite dry fruits to make porridge more nutritious and tasty.While making it for babies add dry fruits powder.

  1. Heat pan and add ghee in it for heating.
  2. As ghee melts add wheat flour in pan and roast it on low flame until nice aroma comes out.It takes around 15-20 minutes to roast wheat flour.
  3. After roasting wheat flour can be stored in air tight container for future use.
  4. For making wheat porridge take 2 tb spoon of roasted wheat flour and make it hot in separate pan for 2 minutes.
  5. Add sugar and 1/2 cup milk in flour and mix well to make porridge.
  6. Add water or milk as per required consistency and let wheat porridge cook for 5-6 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cut dry fruits and serve wheat porridge.
